RAMADĀN

During this time of Ramadān 1446, it is appropriate more than ever to shed light on the “mystifications” that the “best of months” continues to suffer at the hands of the usual “misguided of Jihād”. To be clear, they are those of the “anti-Islamic state of terror” and other “deviant” extremist parties (ahzāb) that fight in the service of Shaytān against Allāh swt and his project of “salvation” for humanity.

It is no coincidence that the pseudo-caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi chose the first day of Ramadān of the year 1435 (June 2014) to announce the birth of his “caliphate of terror”. In doing so, he deliberately desecrated both the Sublime Qur’ān, “sent down” as a “guide for humankind” (sūrat al-Baqara, 2:185) precisely in this blessed month, and the mission to propagate (Da‘wa) the divine Word across seas and continents assigned to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Al-Baghdadi – the “prince” (amīr) of evil – placed himself at the head of a blasphemous “anti-Ummah” made up of fake mujahidin pursuing the objective of replacing the “religion of truth” (sūrat at-Tawba, 9:29 and 9:33; sūrat al-Fath, 48:29; sūrat as-Saff, 61:9) with the “religion of falsehood”, hatred, and violence, despite that the latter stands in direct contradiction to Islām and its principles, methodology, spirit of brotherhood, and humanity.

Therefore, while Muslims around the world – through the “effort” of fasting (sawm), the fourth pillar of Islām – are immersed in a period of purification of their faith (Imān), prayer, and deep connection with Allāh swt, the “anti-Islamic state of terror” promptly strengthens its online propaganda for the use and consumption of militants and supporters. Indeed, the group is always looking for new followers to divert from the “Straight Path” (Sirāt al-Mustaqīm) with distorted promises aimed especially at the youngest, taking advantage of their innocence and of their critical capacity, which is still immature as is normal.

At the same time, Shaytān’s soldiers intensify terrorist attacks with special campaigns of violence, warfare, and extermination that last the entire month. Today, this happens in Africa and Khurasan, yesterday it happened mostly in the Shām and Iraq. The goal is to ​​stain with innocent blood all that of pure and beautiful Ramadān offers to believers (muʾminīn), also at a social and community level.

Ramadān provides the opportunity to strengthen ties both with the closest kinship (family members, relatives, and friends, with whom one gathers for Iftār and Īd al-Fitr), and with the most in need within the Ummah, to whom at this time of the year it is particularly recommended to devote the zakāt, the third pillar of Islām.

However, in their upside-down world, the “anti-Islamic state of terror”, al-Qāʿida, and other terrorist organizations bringing “Jihadists” together, are completely distorting the true meaning of Ramadān for their sordid anti-Islamic purposes. What can Muslims do to defend themselves and the religion of Allāh swt?

Let us remember when it all began, with the angel Jibrīl and the one who was chosen as the “Messenger of Allāh and the Seal of the Prophets” (sūrat al-Ahzāb, 33:40) in the Cave of Hira’a on Mount Jabal An-Nūr near Makkah. Iqra’a!

Let us celebrate Ramadān in light of the Sublime Qur’ān and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The truth (Haqq) will always prevail.

Facing the “mystifications” of the blessed month, let us reaffirm its authentic meaning with actions of charity and forgiveness that strengthen the unity of the Ummah. Let us remember (dikhr) the Almighty (al-Qadīr) and take up our most effective weapon: education. Mosques, schools, and digital platforms must multiply their “efforts” to spread the true beneficial knowledge of Islām, so as to dismantle the falsehoods spread by “deviant” ideologies and protect the youngest from misguidance and attempts at corruption.
