AFGHANISTAN: NO TO STONING, IT IS ANTI-ISLAMIC

In response to the recent announcement by the “misguided” and anti-Islamic regime of the Ṭālibān, the blog “Swordless Jihād” reiterates its absolute and unconditional “NO” to the reintroduction of stoning for “adulterous” women (or just presumed to be so) in Afghanistan.

In the Sharīʿah there is no clear, exact, and indisputable injunction prescribing “stoning”. It is rather the incorporation into the framework of Islamic law of a “cultural” practice, better to say an (ab)use and a malpractice dating back to past eras, which became an integral part of some interpretations of the doctrine by “human” and non-divine will.

Likewise, the bans on women from leaving home, studying, and working do not belong to Islām, but to its fanatical and extremist caricature promoted by the Ṭālibān, who have now placed themselves irremediably outside the Ummah. Having defeated the U.S.A. does not excuse them from establishing an anti-Islamic regime once again.

After decades of war and suffering, may Allāh swt grant our brothers and sisters in Afghanistan to definitively free themselves from oppression and injustice, opening the eyes, minds and hearts of those who mistakenly still see the Ṭālibān as heroes and role models to follow. Amīn. ☝️
